Shoot for the Moon...

"...Even if you miss, you'll land among the stars." ~Les Brown.

This past summer, I attended a week-long Institute hosted by NASA at the Johnson Space Center in Houston, Texas.  I learned about the many amazing resources NASA has to offer educators, and the huge investment they are making to spark student interest in Science and other STEM disciplines.  In honor of Earth Science week beginning the 12th, I am including activities NASA is providing to celebrate the occasion:

Launch Earth Science Week with NASA!
October 12-18, 2014

This Earth Science Week, join thousands across the country on a special mission to explore Earth’s connected systems, contribute to citizen science, participate in educator webinars and engage with NASA Earth scientists.

Register now to join in these live NASA events during Earth Science Week athttp://nasaesw.strategies.org/events/

And from now through Earth Science Week and beyond, visit http://nasaesw.strategies.org/blog/, where we’re posting a growing collection of first-hand stories from NASA Earth explorers, resources for all ages, and more.

NEW for the 2014 Earth Science Week…

#SkyScience

Be part of a real NASA experiment!    One and all are invited to become a “Citizen Scientist” from Oct. 12-18 and contribute to NASA science while learning about clouds and how they affect our weather and climate.   This exciting opportunity takes a little bit of planning because you’ll need to find and coordinate with a satellite passing overhead, but you can do it.   It doesn’t matter where you live, how much you may or may not know about clouds, or your age.   Everything you need to learn about#SkyScience is at go.nasa.gov/skysci
